DESCRIPTION

An extraordinary tale of impossible love, unfolding over fifteen years in destroyed, post-war Poland and the awakening of Europe. The feeling is out between the young dancer Zula and the pianist Wiktor. A passionate love story between two people of different backgrounds and temperaments, who are fatefully mismatched, set against the background of the Cold War in the 1950s in Poland, Berlin, Yugoslavia and Paris. The only thing they desire to be together, while not being able to live with each other – Zula and Wiktor are separated by politics, character defects and unhappy fate. A film dedicated to the parents of the director, Paweł Pawlikowski.
