OPENING | CLOSING GALA

Films chosen at European festivals especially with Polish viewers in mind. Each year, during the opening and closing gala of Two Riversides Film and Art Festival we present films which première in Poland.

WORLD UNDER CANVAS

It’s a unique set of films presenting the latest trends in artistic, independent and author’s cinema around the world. The greatest emphasis is put on the European cinema.

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILMS COMPETITION

Films which enter the SFC are feature films, documentaries, animations ad experimental films that last up to 35 minutes and were produced in 2016 or 2017. Older films can (only conditionally) be admitted if their screening during the Festival will be their first presentation in Poland.

MUSIC – MY LOVE

We present music films and films about music, sometimes we also screen concert footage as well. A holiday of music and film together with a festival-opening event. During Two Riversides we want to underline the mutual entanglement of and inspirations behind film and music art.

GREAT CINEMA ON THE SMALL MARKET SQUARE

Shows which extensively promote outstanding film productions. This is our idea for what is worth saving from the last season.

CINEMA LESSON

„Cinema Lesson – Confession of a Filmmaker” is a particular form of our special guests’ meeting with the festival audience. The artists talk about their fascination with art, artistic sins and craft secrets.

INSOMNIA OF A CINEMATOGRAPHER – THE RESTROSPECTIVE OF TOMASZ ZYGADŁO

We present directors whose output had or is having a key influence on the directions of world cinematography.

HUNGARIAN CINEMA – ANOTHER WAY

Károly MakkKároly Makk (1925–2017) is now considered one of the greatest directors and scriptwriters in the history of Hungarian cinema. As many as five of his films were nominated for a Palme d’Or in Cannes.

MILOŠ FORMAN – FOREVER

“When I look back at my first movies, it seems that the only thing that mattered was a careful observation”, Miloš Forman wrote in his autobiography.

AND GOD CREATED ACTOR – ARKADIUSZ JAKUBIK

Actor’s retrospective. We will show movies and TV theatre productions and invite our viewers to participate in a meeting with the actor.

5 X FILM ACADEMY

The management of Kwant Film Club (DFK Kwant) at the Warsaw University of Technology always aspired to bring the finest repertoire to the finest audience.

Film screenings made in cooperation with partners of the Two Riversides Film and Art Festival.

THE AUDIENCE POLL

Films which take part in the Poll are ones from the World Under Canvas and feature film from other sections produced in 2017 and 2018.

CONCERTS

The music programme of the Two Riversides Festival will feature renowned and debuting artists, inspired by jazz, traditional music and urban folk.

EXHIBITIONS

We organise exhibitions of regional artists in cooperation with local galleries. The series is to animate and promote the local artistic environment and to shape the image of the region as a place which is characterised by intensive creative activities.

UNFILMED | LITERARY CYCLE

The project’s goal is to promote writers whose works haven’t yet been adapted to the screen, to promote literature as a source of inspiration for contemporary cinema, and to draw attention of the Polish cinema world towards literature.

THE PERŁA CLUB

A series of club concerts which present the fascinating young Polish scene.

BLACK RED WHITE SALON

Meetings with remarkable creators of film, art and literature from around the world. The festival town and the fact that the it takes place in the open air lets our audience mix holidays with broadening their knowledge and making international connections.
