DESCRIPTION
The newest film by Janusz Kondratiuk, the author of the unforgettable “Marriageable Girls” (“Dziewczyny do wzięcia”, 1972). A bittersweet image of family bonds, based on a true story. With humour and irony, the film depicts an unconventional family with their conflicts and rivalries, but also emotional moments and authentic closeness. When an emergency arises, the brothers easily cast aside their differences and misunderstandings and reconcile. The younger undertakes to take care of the older, who got suddenly ill.
DIRECTOR
Janusz Kondratiuk (1943): screenwriter, film and theatre director, graduate of Directing of the Lodz Film School. Cooperated closely with his brother Andrzej Kondratiuk, with whom he shared a similar view at films. Back in the day, they were considered to be an independent directing duo. They created films stylised as documentaries and often worked with amateur actors, as they valued naturalness the most. Author of such cult films as “Dziewczyny do wzięcia” (1972), starring the unforgettable Ewa Szykulska, or “Czy jest tu panna na wydaniu” (1977).FILMOGRAPHY
