DESCRIPTION

Cinema reflects life like in a mirror, but this time life has become cinema. In May 1968, while popular protest movement was setting alight in France and Europe, the 21st edition of Cannes Film Festival started. French New Wave directors can’t lose their interest of what is happening in their country for 15 days because of movies, cocktails and evening dresses. Locked in the Palais, Jean-Luc Godard, Roman Polanski, François Truffaut and Louis Malle are involved in strong debates to know if they should stop the festival. With rare archives, focus on these 9 nights where directors prevented the screenings of their own films.

DIRECTOR
Jérôme Wybon, editor, screenwriter and director. For over 15 years of his creative work, he has made nearly 60 shorter and longer video documents. “Cannes 1968. Interrupted Festival” is the first documentary in his career directed for television.
