DESCRIPTION
Student Academy awarded Klara Kochańska builds her feature debut with interesting elements: an intimate, independent road movie, subtle performances and quasi-documentary authenticity. Julia and Piotr are a well-situated, middle-class married couple entertaining the idea of a dream holiday. At the request of Piotr’s mother, however, the pair is redefining plans and set out instead on a trip across the Balkans, heading for a refugee camp on the Macedonian-Greek border.

Klara Kochańska (1984) studied on College of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities at the Warsaw University and directing at the Film School in Łódź. Her first short feature “TENANTS” was presented at the IFF Karlovy Vary, as well as festivals in Kraków, Durban and other festivals and received awards (i.a. Student Oscar at the Academy Awards).”Via Carpatia” is her full-length debut.Kasper Bajon (1983), actor, screenwriter and director.
