DESCRIPTION

Visual artist, set designer, animated film director; graduate of the University of Warsaw in art history and cinematography studies at the Film School in Łódź. Winner of many animation film awards.

Author of the set and co-founder of the STS. He made animated films, which went beyond the classical viewer – the child – and touched upon existential issues or commented on the difficult reality of the People's Republic of Poland. Academic lecturer in Warsaw, Ghent and Vancouver. Winner of numerous artistic awards, including the Grand Prix twice at the Warsaw SAFF, the ASIFA Special Award for invaluable contribution to art and animated film development at the Zagreb Film Festival. He was also awarded the Golden Medal Gloria Artis.

The „Cinema Lesson” with the participation of the director will be accompanied by a screening of his film „DOES THE HORSE KNOW HE WON?” (2018, dis. Anima). A week from the life of riders who go to hippie competitions. They are accompanied by a team of documentary filmmakers who record the journey in all its aspects and in every tiny detail. The scale of observation is full, from minor mundane activities to the emotions associated with the competition. The filmmakers try to get to the heart of the relationship between man and animal in this spectacular but difficult sport. The film reaches the essence of the psychophysical interdependence between horses and riders. It also shows the enormous effort, fears and joys.
