DESCRIPTION
The story of Michał Hochman – the rising star of Polish music of the 60s, the performer of the hit song “Konik na biegunach”, an iconic student singer of the ’68 generation, with roots in Kazimierz Dolny – whose career ended abruptly when he was forced to leave the country. The provocative title “U siebie” (“At Home”) leaves the viewer to reflect on the consequences of merciless uprooting and losing one’s identity – language, cultural context, and means of artistic expression. Everyone’s fate begins the same way, but no two are the same, just like in the case of the protagonist’s family.
