DESCRIPTION

A film that depicts the image of Polish society at the turn of 20th century. It is an artistic combination of works of the most outstanding Polish writers with newspaper articles and facts that together make a synthetic picture of two families living in Cracow in 1874-1914.

Part 3 “Cracow 1898”: Intellectual and cultural life flourishes in Cracow. Julia – Mrs. Chomińska’s daughter (episode 1) – begs her mother to let her develop her painting talent and pursue a relationship with a young poet. Middle-class conventions and her mother’s proves stronger than Julia’s heart and desire to develop.
